Darlington Beekeepers association, is opening its Denes apiary to the public on Sunday the 20th of May which is United Nations World Bee Day. www.worldbeeday.org
Honey will be available for tasting and sale, Candle rolling for children of all ages, as well as seeing bees in an observation hive, with live bee demonstrations weather allowing. Tea/coffee and soft drinks will be available. The Apiary has both wild and cultivated flowerbeds all of which are designed to be pollinator friendly, for honey bees, bumble bees and butterflies. Come out to support the Bees, without the bees 30% of the worlds crops including fruit and vegetables would not be available
for us to eat.
The Apiary is located on the Denes old bowling green junction of Surtees Street and Widdowfield Street DL3 6PW.
